Game Recap

East Grand Rapids got on the board first, but Forest Hills scored three straight goals to win over their rival, 3-1, at Forest Hills Central Wednesday.

Jesse Trube scored on a breakaway less than five minutes into the game to put the Pioneers on top 1-0. However, senior captain Caitlin Murphy tied the game 1-1 before halftime with a goal on a penalty corner.

Forest Hills took control through the second half, with Kirsten Fentzke finally earning the go-ahead goal with eight minutes remaining. Mallory Jacobs added insurance with a blistering high shot from the top of the circle to cement the 3-1 final score.

Forest Hills won the JV matchup 1-0, with Rain Tarango scoring the only goal of the game.

Forest Hills now has a 5-1 record (4-1 Division II) and will take a break before hosting Dearborn Edsel Ford and Grosse Pointe University Liggett on Saturday, September 17. The loss moves EGR to 2-3-1 (2-2-1 Division I).
