Game Recap

Forest Hills Varsity Field Hockey swept another Saturday of games, beating Warren Regina 10-0, followed by a 2-0 win over a St. Catherine team that was previously undefeated.

FOREST HILLS 10, REGINA 0 — Junior Elena Cook posted the shutout in goal without facing a shot as the home team rolled over the visiting Regina Saddlelites. Mallory Jacobs scored four goals; Madison Bruno added two goals and an assist, along with two goals from Rain Tarango. Gwyneth Ackerman and Kirsten Fentzke were the other scorers for Forest Hills.

FOREST HILLS 2, ST. CATHERINE (WIXOM) 0 — In the featured game of the day, Forest Hills’ defensive play stifled the St. Catherine attack and forced the Stars into abandoning their game plan. Meanwhile, back-to-back goals midway through the first half provided all the scoring that was needed. Madisyn Bunke and Emma Dodson both connected on penalty corners to give the home team a lead it would never relinquish. Molly Growney recorded the shutout in goal.

With the wins, Forest Hills is now 10-1 in divisional play, creating a three-way tie for first with St. Catherine and University Liggett. Forest Hills has three games remaining, and will celebrate senior day at home next Saturday, October 7 against Oakland and Clarkston.
