The Boys Swimming and Diving team defeated Okemos 116-70. Forest Hills dominated the meet by winning 10 of the 12 events.
Forest Hills started off the meet with a 1-3 finish in the 200 yd. Medley Relay. Winning relay was Seth Fagen (:26.13), Matt Wilson (:27.85), Jonathan Bloedow (:24.19) and Charlie Krug (:21.78). Teammates Tyler Perschbacher (:30.90), Adam Sands (:31.62), CJ Hier (:25.17), Daniel Bloedow (:23.67).
Forest Hills continued to charge with a 1-3-5 finishing as Henry Schutte (1:44.80) captured 1st with Avery Letourneau (1:53.73) coming in 3rd and Andrew Zhang (2:00.69) grabbing the 5th place.
The 200 yd. Individual Medley saw Forest Hills use its depth to place 2-3-4 as CJ Hier was just touched out for the top spot and teammate Daniel Bloedow placed 3rd (2:05.37 – 2:06.30) and Adam Sands touched the wall taking 4th place (2:09.76).
In the 50 yd Freestyle, Charlie Krug was 1st (:22.70), Jonathan Bloedow (:23.37) took 2nd and Max VanDoorne (:24.59) was 5th.
Ryan Talbot was Forest Hills top diver on Saturday finishing 3rd place with a score of 178.40 pts. Teammates Sam Musgraves (163.00) was 4th and Flyn Lyon (162.55) was 5th.
Seth Fagen (:55.08) just out touched Okemos by .4 tenths for 1st place and Adam Sands (:57.87) as 3rd and Ethan Boersma (1:04.17) finished in 5th place.
Forest Hills showed it’s speed in both the sprint as they placed 1-2-3 in the 100 yd. Freestyle and 1-3-4 in the 500 yd. Freestyle events. Leading Forest Hills in the sprint event was Henry Schutte (:46.71) and teammates Matt Wilson (49.23) and Charlie Krug (:49.76) finishing 2-3. Jonathan Bloedow won the distance race going 5:00.50 and Avery LeTourneau (5:19.35) was 3rd and Paul Jeong placed 4th (5:26.99).
The freestyle sprint relays saw Forest Hills touch 1st and 2nd as the “A” relay (Schutte 21.53, Krug Bloedow, D, LeTourneau) going 1:30.24 and the “B” team (Adam Sands, 24.01, VanDoorne 24.50, Perschbacher 25.26, Jeong 25.67) taking 2nd place.
Seth Fagen, CJ Hier and Andrew Zhang combined to increase Forest Hills lead they finished 1-4-5 in the 100 yd. Backstroke and Matt Wilson finished off the individual events with a 1:00.43 first place finish in the 100 yd. Breaststroke.
Forest Hills closed out the meet with a 1-3 finish in the 400 yd. Freestyle Relay as the “A” team (Schutte :48.37, Wilson :49.44, Fagen 50.48, Bloedow, J :50.51) cruised to a first place time of 3:18.78 while the “B” team (LeTourneau :54.70, Hier :54.54, Jeong :58.65, Zhang :55.32) as third.
“We swam and drove well despite this was the team’s third meet in 7 days. We’re a pretty tired group right now but we’re still able to post times near personal best,” said head coach Dennis Neat. “
The team will host GR Catholic Central at the Forest Hills Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Jan. 16th at 6:30 pm.
