Forest Hills Central used it’s team depth to post a 103-83 victory over Spring Lake in opening conference play. Forest Hills won 5 of 12 events lead by Henry Schutte taking the 50 yd (29.65) and 100 yd Freestyle (45.23) titles and Matt Wilson winning the 100 yd Breaststroke (1:01.81) as well as Forest Hills touching first in the 200 yd Freestyle (1:31.59) and 400 yd Freestyle Relays (3:22.58).
In the opening event, 200 yd Medley Relay, Forest Hills was 2nd and 3rd and was followed by a 2-3-5 finish in the 200 yd. Freestyle with Daniel Bloedow leading the way (1:55.66) followed by Zach Stevenson (1:58.24) and Paul Jeong (2:04.48).
Matt Wilson touch 2nd in the 200 yd Individual Medley with a Division 1 state qualifying time of 1:59.20 followed by Seth Fagen, 4th (2:06.62) and CJ Hier 5th (2:08.41)
Henry Schutte blazed through the water winning the 50 yd Freestyle and setting a new pool record going 20.65. Kaz Iwatsu was 4th (23.92) and Adam Sands was 5th (24.06).
On the diving board, Forest Hills finished 3-4-5 as Joe Mish (175.55), Sam Musgraves (169.35) and Chance Spencer (156.60) gave the team important points.
Forest Hills depth was on displayed in the next three events to grab the lead and never let go. First up was the 100 yd Butterfly and Jonathan Bloedow’s 54.26 was good for 2nd place followed by CJ Hier’s 3rd place (55.37) and Adam Sands 4th place finish (57.77).
Next was the 100 yd Freestyle and Forest Hills’ Henry Schutte set a second pool record going 45.23. Charlie Krug touched for 3rd (50.85) and Kaz Iwatsu was 4th (52.44).
In the 500 yd Freestyle, Daniel Bloedow (5:14.63), Luke Asselin (5:18.18) and Zach Stevenson (5:26.35) again delivered another 2-3-4 finish to secure the lead.
Forest Hills continued to show it’s team depth as they finished 1-3 in the 200 yd Freestyle Relay and had another 2-3-4 finish in the 100 yd Backstroke. Seth Fagen (55.50) was 2nd with Jonathan Bloedow’s 3rd (58.96) and Andrew Zhang (1:00.93) touched in 4th place.
In the final individual event, Matt Wilson lead the Forest Hills swimmers to the wall with Patrick Lintner 4th (1:20.45) and Kyle Carter 5th place finish (1:22.85).
